Apple Needs to Cut Price of the Smartphone

It's no secret that every time Apple releases its latest smartphone, the price of the new product will definitely be high compared to premium smartphones from Android. The high price of this Apple product poses its own pros and cons, where perhaps the majority of users are not too concerned about the high price compared to those who have never used it. However, considering the price of the Apple iPhone XR which has recently been released has a very high price with the most standard model can reach USD 750, there are some parties who feel that this price is starting to feel unnatural.

Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives, quoted by Ubergizmo, revealed that Apple needs to reconsider the selling price decisions of its products and start considering price cuts as well. "As we have discussed with investors, the price tag of Apple that is too "confident" for the iPhone XR is a major factor in the decline in revenue experienced by Apple in the fourth quarter of last year. While the iPhone XS continues to focus on premium price points, the upgrade turnover point for the latest iPhone is the iPhone XR, with at least 20% of iPhone users represented in China to be able to get a chance to upgrade."

Apple CEO Tim Cook also mentioned that there was a lower demand for smartphones compared to what was expected at the start, with how this device wasn't selling well in China. However, this can also occur due to boycotts in China, where many iPhone users have finally switched to their own Chinese-made smartphones such as Huawei. But given the price of premium smartphones made in China which have more reasonable prices, the iPhone seems to need a price adjustment again to be able to compete with these smartphones.
