Backup and Restore WhatsApp with Google Drive

As one of the most popular instant messaging application with a total number of 1 billion users, WhatsApp has several advantages, applications are lightweight, can be used in different platforms (cross platforms / multi platform), send photos, video and voice calls over an Internet connection.

If you are a user of WhatsApp and plan to replace your Android device, you certainly do not want all the messages in this application is missing? 1. Requirements

Before performing backup and restore, there are several requirements that must be met, among others:

3. Important Notes About Google Drive

a. Your first full backup might take quite a long time. You can charge the battery of your Android device in case the device does not die in the middle of the backup process.

b. You can change the frequency back up process. With conditions, the Google account used for backing up and internet connection that is used to make backups anytime : Button Menu> Settings> Chats and calls> Chat backup.

c. Every time you do a back up in Google Drive on your Google account, the previous backup file in Google Drive will be overwritten with the new backup. Important note, there is no way to perform a backup of old files in Google Drive.

4. Restore Backup Files

After the backup files from your old Android device on Google Drive, it's time to restore a backup file on your new Android device.

When you want to verify your phone number - after the installation process - WhatsApp will offer you to restore the history of the media chat and backup your files. It's easy, you simply tap on the Restore (Restore) when requested to do so. Furthermore, you are just waiting for the restore process is complete.

But if WhatsApp not detect the backup file, possibly because of the following things:

a. You are not connected to the same Google account when you perform backups on the old device.

b. You do not use the same phone number when you perform backups on the old device.

d. No backup files on Google Drive account or on your phone.

Note: The easiest way to transfer backup files to a new phone is to use Google Drive. But if you want to use backups of local files on your device, you need to transfer the file backup to a new device using a computer, the application file explorer or SD card.
